Considering the fact that today is the very first day that The Bendy Bard has actually been live, it should come as no surprise that this is the only blog post. The tabs at the top of the page will lead you to the different categories of articles and posts that I’ll be making, but for now, ‘Journal’ is the only one with anything in it (this very post, in fact).
My posting schedule as it stands right this moment is Tuesdays and Fridays, for which the next few months I’ve got some good topics and themes planned, so prepare yourselves! Ideally you would do such preparation by subscribing to my newsletter *wink wink*. Some of the central purpose behind this blog will be to concentrate on green living, ethical consumerism, spirituality and mind-body wellness, as well as my own personal journey to incorporate those things into my everyday life as not only a wife and a mother, but as a woman.
There are many aspects of the lifestyle I write about that I don’t fully embody, but rather, that I would like to embody, or I strive to be nearer to. A good example of this, are the recipes that I will post, which will be mostly plant-based or vegan dishes, often gluten free as well. All of these diets are ones that I do not adhere to in everyday life, but I recognize the benefits of both and like to incorporate these meals into my family’s week. Three dinners a week that conform to a plant-based whole foods diet, are three a week that aren’t filled with GMO’s, carcinogens, and unhealthy fats. Plus, I hate cooking, but love experimenting…so coming up with recipes like this is kind of an incentive for me.
That being said, I will actually research and provide you with facts about issues that matter to me, sources cited. Recycling and green living are extremely important to me, but whether I can commit to producing zero household waste or not, is something we’ll have to find out as we go. The point is, every step counts. I write about things I care about, and I plan to share with you in the journey to adjust my family’s lives to draw us closer to those things.
I’ll leave you with that, seeing as I’ve just glanced at the clock on my microwave and it’s saying there’s only 31 minutes until midnight. With a toddler, I don’t exactly get to sleep in, but I still go to bed crossing my fingers that he might let me! I look forward to embarking on this blogging endeavor with you, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Feel free to contact me anytime, and follow me on social media (links to which you can find at the very bottom of every page). Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you all luck tomorrow on your Manic Mondays (yes, I am a bit of a fan of 80’s music…). Goodnight all.
